Hello everyone! Today we’re here to provide a helpful guide to all the Black Friday sales that are going to be happening in the coming week. From used books to awesome bookish merchandise from independently owned Etsy shops, we’re here to help!

New Books

Barnes and Noble

  • Signed editions; many of them are on sale now!
  • It is also possible/likely that on the actual Black Friday, there will be a discount given on your overall purchase. This has been the case the last few years.

Books-A-Million

  • Sales start NOW!
  • Up to 50% off book gifts.
  • Buy 2 Get 3rd free on autographed editions.
  • Buy 2, Get 3rd Free on Graphic Novels & Manga.
  • Buy 2, Get 3rd Free on Westerns.
  • Buy 2, Get 3rd Free on James Patterson kid’s books

Book Depository

  • Sales are happening site wide, all week!
  • Deals are changing and growing daily. So far it seems select books will be up to 50% off, across all categories.

Target

  • Select kids and Disney books will be on sale for $4.
  • Books will be buy 2, get 1 free - HERE
  • Target will be open on Thanksgiving Day in the evening until 1am and then again on Black Friday.

Half Price Books

  • 20% off everything in the store.
  • The first 100 people will receive a free tote bag and $5 gift card. One tote bag will contain a $100 gift card.

Amazon

  • Kindle Paperwhite will be on sale for $84.99 (originally $130).
  • Amazon is already posting book deals for both Kindle and print books and they are changing daily. In past years they have also done additional book discounts.

Bookish Merchandise

Out of Print

  • Out of Print is one of my favorite bookish merch shops.
  • While they haven’t announced Black Friday deals yet, they typically do 30% off on that day or a BOGO on t-shirts. Definitely worth checking out!

Ink and Wonder

  • Ink and Wonder is most famous for their amazing woodmarks, which are bookmarks made out of thin wood.
  • They have already started Black Friday deals with a large Clearance section and 50% off woodmarks with code BLACKFRIDAY.
  • They are also doing grab bags.

Nightmares & Daydreams

  • This Etsy shop makes some intensely cute magnetic bookmarks and other great bookish items.
  • While they haven’t announced their Black Friday deals yet, they have announced that there will be Black Friday deals, so keep checking back with the shop!

Sweet Sequels

  • I just love this shop and their AMAZING bookish art, including blankets, t-shirts, ornaments and more!
  • They have announced they are doing a blanket drop and ornament restock at 10am CST on Black Friday.
  • They are also doing other restocks and sales throughout the weekend — check all information and sneak peaks on their Instagram page!

Wick and Fable

  • Wick and Fable makes amazing bookish candles and I adore them.
  • They have already started their sales with bundles and BOGOs and 15% off your entire order with the code THANKFUL.

  1. I might have to hit up my local HPB, but also I totally don’t need to buy more books…

    Also, you guys didn’t include Storiarts, but they’re running a variety of sales this week for Black Friday (different sale every day I believe?). They do apparel/accessories/totes/etc printed with the text of a bunch of major literary works. Mostly classics, but a couple contemporary titles as well! (I can’t vouch for their quality, but I’ve had my eye on their stuff for a while and might have to finally give in and buy something from them ?
