Covet (Crave, #3) by Tracy Wolff
Published by Entangled: Teen on March 2, 2021
Pages: 600
Goodreads

I may have reached my breaking point. As if trying to graduate from a school for supernaturals isn’t stressful enough, my relationship status has gone from complicated to a straight-up dumpster fire.
Oh, and the Bloodletter has decided to drop a bomb of epic proportions on us all...
Then again, when has anything at Katmere Academy not been intense?
And the hits just keep coming. Jaxon's turned colder than an Alaskan winter. The Circle is splintered over my upcoming coronation. As if things couldn’t get worse, now there’s an arrest warrant for Hudson’s and my supposed crimes—which apparently means a lifetime prison sentence with a deadly unbreakable curse.
Choices will have to be made...and I fear not everyone will survive.

My Thoughts

“The key isn’t to live life regret free. It’s to always try to make the best decision you can in that moment.”

Covet is the third book in the Crave series and I have to be honest and say that it was my favorite one of the three. Grace is ever the strong, independent heroine who is still trying to navigate life as a gargoyle and a college student. Oh and let’s not forget that she also has *** to deal with. She also spends a good portion of the novel learning more about her own magical abilities.

“I am in love with the girl who has a heart bigger than the entire world and the gumption to demand it kneel at her feet of it harms someone she loves.”

Covet expands the world that Wolff spent Crave and Crush building. Plus we get insight into Jaxon and Grace’s bond which was at the center of the first two books. I don’t want to spoil exactly what you learn but I felt entirely vindicated by all the new information. Up to this point, I thought the books were fine but I never really liked Grace and Jaxon together. There just seemed to be some thing off about the two of them and so I found Covet to be incredibly validating. If you can’t tell, the answer is yes, I totally ship Hudson and Grace. While Jaxon and Grace’s relationship felt safe and even a little boring, Hudson and Grace are full of fire and passion. I also really appreciated the epiphanies Grave experiences surrounding both Hudson and Jaxon.

“And the thing about friendship is, it’s not always convenient and it’s not always fun, but it is important. And when you find the people who matter, you take the good with the bad.”

The other facet of the book that I really enjoyed was the friendships and found family. Some times I do wish that we could get more insight into everyone elses’ back stories. On that same note, I did feel like the book got long in places and could have been like 200 pages shorter.

With said, I enjoyed Wolff conversational tone and measured pacing as well as the expansion of the Crave universe. I am of course dying after that cliff hanger ending and cannot wait for the final book, coming out in September.

Overall, I gave Covet 3.5 stars and would recommend to anyone who enjoys paranormal romances with plenty of magical creatures and political intrigue.
