stay tuned for an exclusive Q&A with Talia as well.

About the Book

About the Author

USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller Talia Hibbert is a Black British author who lives in a bedroom full of books. Supposedly, there is a world beyond that room, but she has yet to drum up enough interest to investigate. She writes sexy, diverse romance because she believes that people of marginalised identities need honest and positive representation. Her interests include beauty, junk food, and unnecessary sarcasm.

Our Thoughts

There is so much to love in Talia Hibbert latest novel in the Brown sister series. While Chloe from the first book makes a few appearances throughout the novel I do not think you need to read them in order.

The only way I can describe Hibbert’s writing is provactive- yes I do mean that in a sexual way. There is so much chemistry on the page that I almost felt uncomfortable listening to it at work! Which in my book isn’t a bad thing when I comes to the romance novels

Danika and Zarif are incredibly competent protagonists. I believe many would call this competency porn. Also, the chemistry between the two of was quite compelling. As one can deduce from the titles this novel feature the fake dating trope and it is quite entertaining. Lots of laughs.

One of my favorite parts of the novel for me was the fact that both Dani and Zarif struggle with anxiety on the page. As someone who lives with mental health issues and has a spouse who does as well it was so refreshing to see it done so well in the pages of a romance novel.

Overall, I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a diverse romance to heat up their summer!
