Welcome back everyone to another Sunday Salon. We hope you all had a fantastic week celebrating Valentine’s/Galentine’s. My husband and I actually skip Valentine’s Day in favor of celebrating the day we met (March 24th). We wrote letters for the first two years of our relationship so we call it Pen Pal Day. Plus we’re both introverts and we enjoy avoiding the crowds.
Emily is still traveling for work but fingers crossed that seems start to calm a down a little.
This Week in Review
On Monday, I recommend books for the Women in Horror Fiction Challenge as part of another Make It Happen Monday, where we recommend books for different reading challenges.
Top Ten Tuesday was a freebie so we decided to showcase the best and worst (in our opinion) fictional relationships.
We were super excited to uncover the riddles for the March Book of the Month picks. The clues were a lot easier this month compared to last month and we are fairly confident in our predictions.
For Themed Thursday, Emily recommended some of her favorite nonfiction novels in honor of Black History Month.
Friday we welcomed back Emily’s dad Art in a new bi-weekly feature called The Art of Mysteries which will take a deep dive into regional mysteries. Its going to be an incredibly fun feature and we are so excited to showcase it.
Haley wrapped up the week with another Bites From Our Backlist post, this time featuring books released just last month.
Haley’s Library Haul
I would say I am ashamed that I sent my husband out into the bitter cold to pick up these library books but I have no regrets! Definitely excited about all of these!
ARCS We Received This Week (thanks Netgalley!)
This was definitely a slower week where ARCs and Netgalley was concerned but we have plenty to keep us busy and we got a few wishes granted in the same day, which is always a blast.
Coming Up Next
This week we have a lot of stuff coming up including our stop on the blog tour for The Sound of Stars with the FFBC and our three post series featuring Tricia Levensellar and her forthcoming novel: The Shadows Between Us.
Monday, in a long overdue Matters of Shelf Control, we will be sharing tricks for fitting more reading into your reading life.
In TTT we’ll be featuring the last ten books that gave us bookish hangovers.
We decided that we loved What We’re Reading Wednesdays so e planning on making it a weekly, or bi-weekly, staple.
We will wrap up the week with our three post series featuring Tricia Levensellar and her upcoming book, The Shadows Between Us (our 3/25)
What About You?
How was your reading week? What new books did you add to your collection? What bookish events are you looking forward to this week?
My reading this week was a little slower than usual. I did add Red, White, and Royal Blue to my collection along with a net galley romance arc.
You had a great library and review book haul! Enjoy!!

Your PenPal Day sounds awesome! Nice way to celebrate. 🙂
I need to remember to check out the Art of Mysteries posts- those sound fun. And I love the look of Fractured Tide! I’m gonna need to get that one I think!
I want to read Ink in the Blood. I hope it’s good. Have a great week!
